'95..fuel pump plus "assembly"

My fuel pump just died. Also, mechanic says some kind of related assembly has rotted away and needs replacing. He says this assembly is a known issue with Blazers. Says he has to go to a dealer for this part. Any idea how much this assembly goes for ?

150 for the sending unit, 150 for the fuel pump, and yes, it is a know issue, mine was just replaced 5 months ago.

These are now being made by the aftermarket, still not cheap. Check on www.rockauto.com for a listing.

You made out good. Parts I had replaced are below:

25168316 fuel tank sender.
25163473 fuel pump.
25168246 strainer.

The sender retails for $405 and unfortunately that is what I had to pay ( although if I was able to go without a vehicle for a week, could have been had for $220 from gmpartsdirect.com). The whole job wound up costing me $800 !!

Mine was 800 and they replaced the fuel tank as well.

They are overcharging you.
