Hand Pump

Question for all,

If you use a hand pump to fill differentals and transfer case,
what do you clean the hand pump with after use?
Would not want to contaminate anything when I use it for the next time!

Re: Hand Pump

I would just let it drain out really.

Maybe some paint thinner to clean it and let it dry out completely.

Re: Hand Pump

Use brake clean. Thinner or mineral spirits will kill the plastic...

Re: Hand Pump

I usually don't worry about it. Before I pump any fluid in, I always have to pump the old fluid out. Pumping the old out first removes any different kind of fluid that may be remaining inside the pump.
