my friend sys he has an awd special edition 99celica gt, says he beat a 12 second mustang. is there such a thing as this 99 awd turbocharged celica gt

i beleive there is but it was not sold in the us due to emission regulations. it is called an alltrac turbo or st205 or gt4. they got 260 hp stock they are very fast.one guy on here has one his name is nialusa. he can tell u alot more about them than i can so maybe he will read this.

Hmmm, there is such a thing, Its called a GT4, if he really had one, he wouldnt refer to it as a special edition GT cause thats just BS. Anyway it never made it to the states, "all-tracs" never got sold over there after 1993/4 when the model changed from a gen 5 to a gen 6, although I believe there are 1 or 2 privately imported, and very expensive to buy, I doubt if anyone would part with one tbh.
I doubt if he`s telling you the truth either way, 1999 GT4`s are rare as hens teeth, even over here, I think I`ve seen one.
As for beating a 12 sec car, possible if the mustang driver made a mistake, but not likely from even a lightly modded GT4, although I have seen a medium modded GT4 run a 10.4 so I guess anything is possible.
Ask for some pictures, will soon be able to tell if he`s on the level if there are some pics to look at, namely engine bay/rear wheels.

the only way to get one would be to import which would make the car not worth the price, you could porbably build one for less, and if you did that then you would/should be proud of the work you did and wouldn't call it a special edition GT


well i just remembered, it could be the special edition celica that had four wheel steering, i ferget the year, maybe he thinks its four wheel drive,

No such thing. unless his turbo fell of one day and he didnt notice :) :) :) Think he must be confused with the 4WS Celica but there was never a AWD/4WD non turbo Celica.

dont see how a nonturbo celica can beat a 12 sec mustang

the 4ws special edition celica wasn't 99 though
