Re: 350 in the blazer?

I seen a blazer that had a 350 in it from the manufacture, also some of my friends put 350's in S10's. I'll have to get back and see about the gas mileage. However these S10's and this Blazer were prolly early 90's or late 80's..

I have a friend who has a 350 in a 92 S-10 pickup (2WD), and he gets (surprisingly) right around 20MPG on the highway with the overdrive trans. City mileage will all depend on how heavy your right foot is. His isn't light, and the rear tires never last long. : )

Someday when the old "Iron Duke" in my S-10 dies, I plan on hacking something a bit larger in there.

I'm sure a blazer would be about the same, except for the 4WD gear.

There's a book out there called "S-10 V8 conversions" or something to that effect - I'd recommend it. Might save you some time, money, and bloody knuckles.

Re: 350 in the blazer?

You need to check out www.v8s10.org for more information on the swap.

Fuel economy should be about the same or a little lower seeing the V8 doesn't work as hard as the V6 does.
