1500Newbie

I just bought a new 1500 2x4 Crew Cab. All stock, nothing extra, 5.3L Vortec engine, just cosmetic extras: nerf bar(side step), signal mirrors, and rear sliding window. I've bought a rear driver's under seat sub box and rockford fosgate 8" sub and amp. I'm wanting to do some performance upgrades now. First I'm wanting to do cold air intake but, what's better Airaid or K&N? Next I'm wanting to upgrade my mufflers and exhaust, but with what? Borla, Gibson, Flowmaster, or magnaflow? And what about this aeroturbine thing? Is it any better than anything I've listed earlier? I need some advice and preferences.

K&N intake if its primarily a street vehicle. Airaid if you plan on taking it off road. The Airaid will not allow it to suck up water due to the box the filter is in. As far as exhaust, I like the mellow cruising sounds of Corsa and its mean growl at open throttle. It's all preference man, what you wanna do.

Any stainless steel muffler really. You can't go wrong.

I've got Flowmaster 40's and I love them.......they weren't loud enough so I got a cutout for when I want to be obnoxious.......now, I open the cutouts for a couple of days and then close them up and truly appreciate the sound of the flows......
As for the intake.....I got a K&N and love it....I think they're all about the same(K&N vs. Airaid)....so whichever one you can get cheaper.....or make one yourself....that seems to be the new thing to do.......its cheap and easy to make and works like any aftermarket CAI.....I think Slowprocess was building one a while back.......
