Foul odor from '02 Camry vent?

Hi,

I've been told that in order to get rid of the bad odor coming from my A/C vents, I should spray some lysol into the screen under the wipers...

http://meng-chieh.fotopic.net/c334109.html

Are those meshed screens what they're talking about?

If so, I should just spray lysol into across the ENTIRE screen? How much should I use?

Should the engine be running during this? Or should it be off and only the air fan running?

Thanks in advance.

Probably you can't use enough. Yes, that's where you spray the lysol. With the fan on. Just hose it down.

Meng,
You also might want to check your owners' manual to see if your particular year Camry has an interior pollen filter. This is an in-cabin filter for your A/C and heater air coming into the cabin. I just replaced the one in my kid's '05 Corolla S today and it was pretty nasty looking. The car is one year old this month and has just a little less than 10,000 miles and still, the filter was quite dirty. I know.....at $29.95 it may seem a little expensive but it may also relieve some of your specific problem with your Camry. I'm going to have to check and see if Fram or someone makes these pollen filters and for a better price.
