Re: fuel cut off

I don't know if it has a rev limiter, but it does have a speed governor. That cuts off around 95 mph

Heh, not sure. I'd say the newer one. They sshould both top out at 98..which is what the both cut off at.

I have an '02 ext cab Z71 and my roommate has a '97 ext cab Z71 and we occasionally race off of red lights. He's never beaten me, but his truck comes close. It's all about the jump. Also, his truck has perfromance exhaust and a few other mods which mine does not.

Re: fuel cut off

How would u launch off from an auto tranny?? I understand how to do it with a manual but not an auto. People tell me just to put it in neutral then rev it up. Then when the flag drops or the green comes down...just put it to Drive when the gas pedal still down. Is that right??

Re: fuel cut off

Um...with the tranny in GM these days, I definately wouldnt not suggest that!! I've raced mine like this before. Put the gear in 3 and tow/haul ON, and power-brake it up to riiiight before it starts to brake traction and hold it there. when the flag drops let off brake and floor it.
