Angry pricing on window & sunroof motors

hey everybody what's up??

I finally took my car to the dealer, they said this is what's wrong:

1. driver's side window motor failure
2. sunroof switch (not sure which one) failure
3. sunroof motor faliure

the window will cost about 350 with parts & labor

the sunroof about 450

is this crazy???????
they want 80 just to seal the damn sunroof if i don't want it fixed!!!!

i heard you can put a nissan altima motor in replace of the window motor for just $45.... is this true, and if so, where can i get instructions on how to do it??

any input is appreciated!!

I don't doubt that the Altima motor or some other Nissan motor would be compatible, but if you want to find that out you'll have to take it NOT to the dealer. Don't take it to a Nissan dealer either, they'll claim that the cars share nothing in common which is apparently what they're required to say. Take the car to a good reconditioning place or something and see what they think.

There is a thread about this subject on g20.net, I think an altima motor would deffinately fit, it would have to be from the model years 95-96.
