the digital type EGR valve on my 95 s-10 4.3 vin W made it all the way to about 150,000 miles before carbon build up kept it open. i merely took it off, cleaned it, and put it back on. im up to about 175,000 miles now.
I've got a 94 S-10 Blazer, 4.3L CMFI. My computer comes up with code 32, which is my EGR Valve. My only problem is that I cannot find where the EGR valve is located. I know exactly what it looks like, but no clue where to find it.
looking at the front of the motor, under where the air intake tube goes into the upper part of the intake manifold is where the EGR valve is located. the only thing connected to it is one electrical connector, as it is of the digital type and not vacuum operated.
:flash: I have a 1995 s10 blazer 4x4 with a 4.3l vortec and it has had 3 replacement egr valves, it is at 112,000 miles and is having recurrent episodes of egr malfunctions. I have cleaned it numerous times. Good luck, i also read on edmunds.com that this is a common problem. So if anyone has a solution ,, tell me please.
I have a '94 4.3L w/ vin "w". Does anyone know if the egr from a '95 4.3L will work. I also suffer from the dreaded sticky valve problem. FYI Chevy's answer to this is a gasket you can get from you're local dealer with a screen in it, to keep out the carbon deposits.
Can someone tell me what dealerships have that EGR valve with the screen on it? I called my local dealership and they think that it is an aftermarket part?
