Well after a lot of offers from my family, my mom and dad got a deal from one of their friends and i guess i got it. My Dad's friend offered a 4 door 88' accord with i think only 125k miles and the best part is that it's for free :smile: But my mom said we should get things done to it because she thinks its pretty ugly. Can you guys tell me some things i should know about this car and what i should do? My mom also said we should get a newer engine for it so i'd like to know what kind would be best for this. Thanks in advance guys.free ain,t no good deal if you gonna buy an engine. engines= big bucks. if previous owner is original owner the best scenirio is that he kept a record of all work done on the car and saved reciepts. (warrantys may apply). now figure out if you need timing belt replaced(recommended at 65000 miles). if so,consider replacing any seals under that timing belt cover such as crank shaft seal. also consider replacing water pump because it,s right in front of the mechanics face at that time. maybe replace coolant if it ain,t been done . if battery is over 4 years old,give up and buy a new one now. be sure connections (terminals) are wire brushed clean.if needed buy a new serpintine acessery belt. Ugly Car?? ==you can spend a fortune making an ugly car look good. if you,re good at paint work = maybe sand the rims and paint them to freshen em up. buy a set of cheap hubcaps at walmart or pep boys. shampoo the carpet. if rear deck under the back window is shot = lay a nice towel or something like a mexican blanket up there. if the drivers seat back is shot = pull one of your favorite t-shirts over it. cars ain,t like bicycles. cars cost lots of bucks. good luck and drive safe.= the cemetarys are running out of space burying bad drivers.
