can i fit a bmw v8 in2o a 1998 318i?

Im customizing my car and i want to know if theres a bmw V8 that can fit in or should i just forget grunt and turbo it? its a 1998 E46 318i.
i just want it to go faster than it does im not going to drag it or anything and i wouldnt mind it sounding intimidating seems its going to look it.
If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

First off . . you have an E36, if it's an 1998.

Second . . . you can put in a V8 but, it's gonna be alot of money to convert it over and the hardest part would be the computer and wiring. . . from what I read.

Just put a S52 motor from a M3 car. or even a M50 motor. It will better than that 1.8L you have now.

Good Luck ! !

Re: can i fit a bmw v8 in2o a 1998 318i?

im no expert on engine swaps, but i am pretty sure you could since ure 95 318 is an e36, and the M50 engine was fitted in the e36 on the 325i models. the between m3 motors you have a choice of about 4, but it would probably be best to fit it with an S50 or M50 m3 motor from the E36, if you could find one.
