ej20t swap questions...

i have a 95 impreza L 2 door coupe fwd 1.8L. and i have looked at different swaps like the 2.2t legacy motor and stuff, so i came to a decision that im gonna go back to honda, or get a spec v, or ralliart, or take the money i have now and do a ej20t swap...so it came down to it and i have already started my ej20t swap, already have the mechanics to do it, including myself, but ill need a lil help, and im looking to order the motor in 2 to 3 weeks. what all do i need to do this swap besides crossmembers to clear the downpipe, e.c.u and wiring harness? and what crossmembers can i use that will fit and make clearence? ive only heard of the 2.2T legacy crossmembers working. i plan on keeping the 1.8L oem trannie, cause it will bolt up to the ej20t and eventually i will get a different one after intercooler and stuff....any input on my project would be appreciated....thanks......--kory"bob"--

Re: ej20t swap questions...

A wiring diagram would be nice, so you'll know where the wiring has to connect up. Also an engine crane. Other than that, it should be easy as... well, swapping an engine. Let us know how it turns out, and snap some photos when you're done (and in the process).

A crossmember from any turbo model will work. Or your stock crossmember with some special fabrication.

i would look into getting a tranny if possible all that power to a 1.8 liter tranny i dont see lasting that long...even the wrx trannies are the weak link to the wrx, and that is a lot stronger than 1.8 liter...so if you do keep it take good care of it.....
