My 2002 has lost some get up and go. It feels very sluggish when accelerating. Hearing alot of pinging when trying to accelerate quickly. Using same gas as normal. Any ideas? Thanks

73,000 miles, had the fuel pump replaced about 25,000 miles ago, fuel filter changed about the same time . I replaced the fuel filter today but it didn't help, replaced the air filter as well. driving home it became very sluggish and began pinging a great deal . Had to slow from 60 down to about 35 just to make it home. Seems like I'm loosing compression. No black smoke out the exhaust. Anybody with any suggestions??

I had the same problem, no change with fuel additives and the rest...I checked the spark plugs and found them to be clean but worn out...I intalled new Platnium plugs along with new plug wires. Wow what a difference it made....runs up hill like a dog chassing a cat...

my did the same thing but believe it or not it was the alternator that went out on me when that happend. it was ok onthe street but on the freeway at acceleration the truck was sluggish
