The 'Vettes baby brother??

I've heard alot of bickering on wether the Cobalt is really the 'Vettes litte brother....
Well, judging by GM's past models of cars, yes it can be called the "Baby 'Vette"
Why do i say this?
Well here are a few 'baby' models of the past (in the form of 'baby' car = big car):
sunfire = firebird (90's/00's era)
beretta = camaro (late 80's era)
fiero = firebird (late 80's era)
G6 = GTO

so i'd say it's safe to say that the Cobalt SS can be called the baby 'Vette. Hey, it out performs any of the other 'baby' cars...lol

Re: The 'Vettes baby brother??

I'd say the Cobalt is the Vette's little brother about as much as the Cavalier was. Not much in other words. In spite of GM's marketing. Maybe a Chevette?

Re: The 'Vettes baby brother??

well, it outhandles the vette in some areas, uses alot of the same technology that was pioneered on the C5 vette such as hydroformed frame rails, a boxed engine cradle that is ridgedly mounted to the frame rail to increase chassis stiffness and responce, the suspension (of the SS anyway) was tuned on neurenburgring (sp) and it is one of the leading performance cars in its class. seems to me it has alot in common with the vette.

and most important of all, you can order them both in red, thats enough for me
