Question Passat B4 VR6 exhaust options

My '97 b4 wagon's catalytic converter and center muffler have shed their heat-shields and are getting pretty rusty. The whole exhaust system sounds like its starting to leak so I may have to start replacing parts. I'd like to plan a mild upgrade to increase power and maybe gas mileage for street use only.

I've seen the Techtonics Tunings 252.417 2.5 in. stainless cat-back system containing 2 Borla mufflers and pipes in between for around $535.

In case I need to replace it too, I've looked for catalytic converters but don't see any specs so I can't compare any offerings against OEM.

Can anyone either tell me some of the aftermarket options for exhaust system replacement (other than OEM)? Or link me to a thread or website that does?

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs down Re: Passat B4 VR6 exhaust options

I have a 99 1.8 turbo and my exhause pipe completely seperated from the flange where it connects to the turbo. The peice I need is the odd shaped pipe that the sensors pulg into and VW wants like $1100 for a new one.

I did find some OEM exhaust parts online but it has all been performance stuff so far.
