HELP! Locking lug nut....turbomyspyder 04-21-2005, 09:42 AM I can't find my key for the factory locking lugnut. Is there anyway to get it off without it? Can I get them anywhere other than a dealer? Does anyone live in the Dayton, OH area that might let me use theirs?? 1998 gs spyder l_eclipse_l 04-21-2005, 12:03 PM No, you won't be able to get it off without damaging it. I lost mine once, and then found it the next day. :grinyes: The dealer should be able to provide you with another I would think, just show them proof of ownership. george536 04-21-2005, 12:06 PM Knowing the dealership (satan) there gonna charge you ;) l_eclipse_l 04-21-2005, 12:10 PM Probably, but it beats the alternative of paying for a new wheel. kjewer1 04-21-2005, 10:58 PM New key from the dealer was 8 dollars if I remember correctly. Maybe 11. Shit, I forget. I have a bad habit of leaving the key on the last lug nut I tighten and drving away, so I've gone through half a dozen of them. ;) You can also force a strategically sized socket over it but good luck seperating them. Most tire/wheel shops have special sockets just for removing these things too. turbomyspyder 04-22-2005, 03:20 PM Thanks everyone! I called the dealer and they said it would be like $30 so I didn't want to even deal with them if at all possible. I saw on the mitsu parts site that a whole set of wheel locks would be $20+shipping. Thankfully I work with a girl who drives a GT3000 and her key worked! I'll post pics of my rims soon. 1998 spyder gs l_eclipse_l 04-23-2005, 12:30 AM $30??? WTF is that shit. Seriously, even for a fuckin dealer. It's 3 ounces of metal with a design in it. Probably cost about $2 to make. I would have just walked over to one of the service techs, passed him $5, and that would be that. Done deal. TreeFrog 04-23-2005, 04:54 PM check in your hatch, in the bad with the spar tire. mine was in the black bag with the jack and tire wrench thingy. i didn't find it untill months after drilling them out... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
