its not the sound that matters, thats just a bonus. bov's are made so when you let off the gas, preasure between the turbo and intake malifold
does not try to go the opposite way, making your turbo spin the revese way and causing turbo damage or failure.

I agree and disagree..

If you are running a street application run a BOV. Yes your turbo will thank you for it.

If you are running a Drag only application, then forget the BOV. Most BOV vent too much of the charged air out of the charge pipe and intercooler, thus taking longer for the boost to come back, especially between shifts. We are talking about 25psi and up here...

Yes, surge pressures will cause damage to the turbo after prolong abuse, but drag cars are usually breaking something and thereby requiring rebuilding more often...long before the turbo will actually pack it in from compressor surges.

If every 100th of a sec counts..between winning and loosing, you must try every option.
