99 Grand Am GT w/ Security Light Issue

Hi - I've seen this post a handful of times on the website, and it's now happened to my 1999 GT...it started about a month ago with the Security light staying on solid - most of the time when I would go over a bumpy road, or so it seemed. I switched keys back to the spare which I never used, and that seemed to work for a while. The other day I got stranded in a parking lot with the car not starting, and the Security light blinking. Waited 10 minutes and got the solid Security light, started up and went on my way. It's happened a few times since then already...at least it's not winter I guess.

What I am looking for is someone who's had this problem and what exactly needs to be done to get it fixed. I thought I saw a few posts about being able to do it yourself, but I wanted to get clarification. If someone out there could give me some advise on what do to, I'd appreciate it much....

I forgot to mention that I do not have any type of remote start or any mods at all to the car...

Have you had any other problems, such as losing your gagues or power accessories? A loose connection between the ignition switch and the body control module caused me problems with both the security light and other components that rely on the ignition being in the "on" position.
