I bought a Viper Power Trunk Release Kit for my 03 Civic and now am wondering if it is a very hard install. I am relatively smart when it comes to these things but am worried about it. I guess I dont have much of a choice b/c I already ordered it, but the local shop wanted 80 bucks to install it. I also want to hook it up to my Viper 211HV keyless entry system. Are there any other parts that I need to get? Any insight into this would be great. Thanks all.

the install itself should be straight forward.. but programing your viper remote... thats something i dont know about.

Yeah I have a feeling I can conquer the install and I know I have to buy a 5.99 relay to hook it up to my keyless entry but the programming might be harder than i think. then again it might not be bad. i know i have 2 auxilary outputs on the keyless. and i went by the shop today and asked them..they told me that i would need the relay too. i have a friend that is good with this stuff so if i get stuck with it i can borrow his knowledge. also i read the manual and it seems somewhat confusing on the programming part. anyone ever program one of these?

No one has ever installed one of these before? Well I haven't gotten my kit yet but I'm hoping that it comes tomorrow so I can install it. I guess I'll post here if I get stuck on anything. I dunno....I'm a newbie so I can count on getting stuck somewhere in the process. Anyone with a remote idea on how to do this install lemme know. Ah maybe the instructions aren't half bad. I'll post and let ya'll know.

Thanks I'm going to need some luck with this one. I'm pretty dumb for not getting this installed at my local shop but I'm gonna try it out. I got the kit today but havent started yet. Might not get to it until tomorrow. I have only a few questions. I think I can get the solenoid mounted and hooked up to the trunk i just don't know how to hook it to the fuse box and also the relay on my Viper 211hv keyless entry. anyone got any help for me? I guess if not i will be begging a friend for helf. damn him for being lazy. thanks yall

Well just FYI I got this installed and wired up to my keyless entry. It's a pretty good 20 dollar upgrade and is convienent when you have your hands full.
