I have a '93 corvette motor (LT-1 350) and right now is it set up for fuel-injection, this is what i had wanted, but thats before i knew the actual cost of everything else, by the way its going in a '70 SS Chevelle with an M-22 tranny, thats why i have decided to switch it to carburetor. What i would like to know is if anybody out there knows what i need to change, i allready have found the Intake manifold, direct from GM. Do I have to change the waterpump? if so with what. Another thing is the harmonic balancer, what would i change this with? I am looking for any information as i really have not found a whole lot about this conversion, most all conversions seem to carburetion to fuel injection, well gas is 2.50 but i just dont feel like spending $13-1500 on just the wiring harness. If anybody has any links to a site where someone has done this i would appreciate it.

I have not done it but am switching CFI to carb. You will need a fuel pressure regulator to drop your FP to like 6psi if youre using the stock pump. I am not sure what you need to do for ignition and transmission. The LT1 has optispark (distributor in front of engine at the bottom). I am replacing mine with an HEI unit and keeping the computer for tranny TCC lockup. I also know that LT1's have reverse coolant flow than a gen 1 motor. Try your luck at www.corvetteforum.com I am sure someone there will know.

Technically, the only thing you NEED to swap is the intake and carb... everything else can be left the same... just plug the dist hole at the back of the intake... Then put a regulator on the fuel line to bring pressure down to about 5-6psi... and have the FI error codes programmed out of the computer...

if you want to swap to a dist instead of using the opti... the you have to get a optis-spark delete plate, a new HEI dist, and probably a new set of wires... Then rewire the coil power to go to the dist instead of the opti...

if you want to use a dist, you have to pull the plug out of the oil galley that is used to mesh with the cam dist gear... i believe it is one 1/2" or 13mm bolt holding it in... You'll see what i mean once the intake is removed...

if you have any questions bout doing the swap feel free to contact me via email...

I`m not sure but the pulley set-up you have may not work in the Camero, But I may be able to help. I have a 96 LT1 with Camero pulley set-up and am
putting this motor into a 69 vatte and I need the vette pulley set. I have had the whole set powder coated already and am willing to swap with you. All I need are the brackets and I`m sure the ones I have will work for you. You can e-mail me at don_mc1@netzero.com
