93 grand am fan not working?dwoman 04-15-2005, 01:39 AM hi there . iv got a bit of a problem with my car.. a penny landed in my cig lighter and blew the fuse so my power locks wouldnt work but did when i put the car in gear. also the car had started to over heat. we replaced the fuse and all power locks work great . searched out part of the problem with the over heating . turned out we blew the moter for the fan.. replaced that but still the fan is not turning on as the temp rises.. ( connector for the fan moter had been melted) as we discoved when we replaced the fan moter. was all this caused from the penny? where else could there be a problem that is preventing the fan from working? any suggestions would be greatly apreciated. Knifeblade 04-15-2005, 07:20 AM yeah, the cent likely connected a circuit for too long and started blowing stuff. Look around for the fan switch control, mounted on the thermostat housing or near it. It is actually a temperature coolant sensor, that triggers the fan on. You can try www.autozone.com, see if their site has a diagnostic for the problem. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
