Question newcomer to rx7's...just a few q's

I"m new to the whole RX7 street, i have a few questions:
1. If i buy a naturally aspirated model, can i turn it into a single turbo relatively easily?
2. Are they really as unreliable as everyone says they are?
3. Would insurance be comparable to a 95 Integra GSR for an 18 yr old?

thanx for your help in advance......

Q/A

1. well you can't buy a 3rd generation 7 that is n/a, because of the fact they came with twin turbos stock, so you would have to buy a 2nd generation 7.
2. at times there can a reliability issue. these are a "love hate car", yes, you do need to maintain these cars(at least the 3rd gen). when they break, you hate them, if you maintain them, you will love it guaruntee!!
3. inusrance i know for a 3rd gen 7 will be a ton, right now mine is about 280 a month, yes, i am a male an it is under my name, but have a clean driving record.

i don't want to disscourage you from buying one, but make sure you have finacial backing in case something happens.

Maintenance is critical to the rotary engine, but as I understand it, the turbo models will eventually fail. And unfortunately, they tend to fail without much warning.

The n/a models, when well maintained, can be incredibly reliable...

The Twin-Turbo setup for the FD's was designed to operate well, but unfortunately at the cost of reliability. The stock turbos are known for failing, when I say turbos I mean everything that is required to run them.

I would recommend replacing the stock twin turbo setup in favor of a single turbo, with decent CFM but set it at a low boost setting. I would suggest something like a Greddy T78 setup, or something similar.

This way you can buy the greddy profec A and remote switching button thing so at a press of a button you can be running 21psi

btw, this all costs money. lots.
