last week while watchin the news i saw that some fords were being recalled. anybody know any details??

Yeah they catch on fire, didnt get all the details on why but they are going to recall some expeditions, Lincoln navigators and F-150's.

The recall applies to 2000 model year Expeditions and F150's (Lincoln Navigator, too, I think). The speed sensor switch for the cruise control can malfunction and set the truck on fire. People have had them go up in flames right in their driveway (or worse yet, garage) hours after being parked (usually happens when the vehicle is not running).
Of course, Ford can't supply the switches yet so the initial fix is for the dealer to disconnect it first, then call you when the switches come in. I had mine done a couple of weeks ago as we were afraid the thing would fry itself and heard of a house in the midwest that burned down due to the defect. There is no charge to do the fix.
