I have a 89 GTU with a 2.8 it has a single radiator fan. my -problem is that no matter what temp the engine gets to the fan does not turn on unless I use A/C or what not. My uncle said that he had changed the switch { witch one i dont know? } if anyone has any idea what may cause this please reply. please give details as to where i can find the switch(s). Thanks.

Re: radiator fan

I had an 86 Century - 2.8L carb'd and the fan would not come on, computer had a bad chip.... also could be a bad relay, or bad sending unit... cars with gauges have two senders, one is a switch, other is a sensor. Also make sure the fan motor is not bad-- try jumping the fan motor out with battery voltage.... Also, is the fan properly connected and grounded?
