84 S10 2.8l v6 when i step on the gaas after i start it in the morning, i get a high pitched whine along with my growl. coul this be a vacuum line, or could it be head gasket?

I've heard this noise before, and I don't think that it's either a vacume hose, or the head gasket.

It's probably one of the accessories run off your fan belt. My guess is the power steering pump just because it gets quieter when it's warm.

If you can try disconecting just the power steering pump and see if it does the same thing in the morning. (I can on my 85 but I believe that my belt system is different than yours)
