hi all, i have a 93 grand voyager,142,000 miles. lately when i get up around 45 it kinda feels like a hiccup or a stumble of the engine. this seems to happen up to 55 then it seems to be ok. already replaced the fuel pump in 2000 right after we bought it. had 78,000 miles on it then. i looked around for any type of a recall cus i thought it should'nt have gone bad already but nothin. this does not happen all the time either. no diff. hot or cold.
any ideas?
cory

have you had your transmission rebuilt? What you're describing sounds like torque converter shudder, that can be caused by (1) the wrong fluid type and (2) worn transmission fluid. Check your fluid and see what condition it is.

hey 82, not rebuilt but my tranny was leakin fluid 3 mo. ago and i took it in. tranny place took off the pan put some sealant around it, then put it back on. also had to refill the fluid. will check to see what type they put in.
thx cory
i didn't know they don't use a gasket for this tranny pan.they say if you do it could start leakin, like mine did.
egr?

Our 93 Caravan used to hiccup at 35 to 40, we dreaded that it would be time for the transmission to be replaced (at 125,000 miles), but lucky for us when we took it into our HONEST Transmission Shop, they found that they could fix it by replacing the Transmission Relay Switch ($500 compared to replacing it for A LOT more!) Good Luck.
