Good Tires????

My wife has a 2000 JXI with 70,000 miles. She has gone through 2 sets of tires. The last I had on there were Firestone, I will have to look to see what kind. Anyway, they wore out quick. This winter I bought her winter tires, but now I need to put some summer meat on there. What kind of tires are people running? Do you like, dislike? Mileage?

Re: Good Tires????

first off, if she's going through that many sets of tires, check your alignments make sure your toe or camber isn't way out that it's eating the tires

Alignment and all is good. Just had it done, and it wasn't that off. The original set went close to 50K. The second set disinegrated.

If it isn't way too late, here is a post from the Dodge Voyager/Chrysler T&C thread that might be of some help.

OK, AFTER 2 MONTHS RESEARCH ON TIRES,I FINALLY DECIDED ON GOODYEAR ASSURANCE "TRIPLETREADS. LET ME TELL YOU THEY ARE THE BEST TIRES I'VE EVER OWNED. I BOUGHT THEM RIGHT BEFORE THE BIG MIDWEST BLIZZARD AND I WENT EVERYWHERE IN MY 2001 GC SPORT.IN THE RAIN THEY ARE AWESOME! VERY LITTLE ROAD NOISE ON DRY PAVEMENT.I OWN A SHOW TRUCK AND ARE GOING TO PUT THEM ON IT TOO.THEY HAVE AN 80,000 MILE WARRANTY. DONT MISTAKE THEM FOR GOODYEAR "ASSURANCE" BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. IT MUST SAY TRIPLE TREAD ON THEM.I AM A "CAR GUY" AND HAVE OWNED MANY TIRES BUT NEVER ATIRE THIS GOOD. DURING THE BLIZZARD I NEVER GOT HUNG UP ONCE I COULDN"T BELIEVE IT!

Re: Good Tires????

I've been pretty happy with Kumho Ecstas (Korean) on my 2000 JX Ragtop, bought thru "TireRack.com"...they were cheap, delivered fast, and handle great...but of course, there's not much "weather" where I live (SF Bay Area)...

Re: Good Tires????

Even though this is an old post, my wife keeps the factory Goodyear Eagle RSA's on her car and they have lasted a long time. She bought the car new back in 2000, and has only replaced the set once.
