Whale Tail HELP!

Does anyone know what year the roadrunners had the giant spoiler/fin/whale tail on them. I have seen a green one with black stripes with the tall tail, and it was awesome.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Re: Whale Tail HELP!

The Plymouth Superbird has the huge wing, it was based off the roadrunner. Also, in 1969 Dodges version was the Daytona which was based off the charger. They are basicly the same cars. Both were built in very small numbers, just enough to technically be production cars so they could use the bodystyle in nascar competition. Eventually the bodystyle was banned because the cars were winning all the races and they broke the speed record at the time. I'm not usually a fan of big spoilers, but these ones are so over the top that you just have to love them. I think they really add to the car and give them their charm.
