http://www.mbcanada.com/forum/index....opic=7930&st=0

Poor car. But kind of funny at the same time.

Re: Reason why you don't buy a SMART car

Lol. Well, that's awful that somebody(ies) would do that kind of thing, I mean I would never bother another persons car, for whatever reason, but man is that not just the gayest site ever??

Lol. I mean really, who wants to drive one of those things? I'll just stick to my 18-20 mpg truck, lol..and uh, 5 of 6 mpg (if that) racecar, lol

Re: Reason why you don't buy a SMART car

That sucks, but it is pretty amusing. In highschool, one of our teachers had this mini car (don't remember what kind, but same idea). 12 of us picked it up and relocated it to inside a HUGE tent that was being used for an event that we were at. It was funny, but didn't cause damage. Sucks for that guy.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

I just got into a fight over this with some co-workers. I feel bad for the guy, I really do but I think anyone who buys a car like that must not really give a shit about cars. I know I know, different strokes for different folks......yeah but if you buy that then your sortta asking for it! its like the guy in highschool go goes to class dressed up like a Jedi! you are seriously asking to get FUBAR.

My co-workers seem to think that I just dislike cars that are not used for streetracing. its not that, but some cars should just not be made!

Re: Reason why you don't buy a SMART car

lol thats pretty funny but sad at the same time. I feel bad cause the damage they caused, but had it been a normal sized car none if this would have happened. I mean thats like leaving a golfcart sitting in the street, someone is gonna steal it, ride it, or tip it.

Re: Reason why you don't buy a SMART car

I feel bad for the guy...I mean I've had my car messed with plenty of times so I guess I know how it feels. And I always thought my neighborhood was pretty safe just like this guy thought. Now we've got all kinds of motion sensing cameras and the like.

Maybe some people here would change their tune a little if something like this happend to their car 2 months after they bought it.
IMO it doesn't matter that it's a SMART car or any other car. The fact is the guy probably worked hard to get what he wanted and some pricks decide to fuck with the guys stuff.

ugly they may be but the fact is that it is an excellent city car. And the people that do this kind of vandalism to other people's property are scumbags.

it would be a great thing if more cars like this would make it to the US. Lets compare it for example to the ever present oversised SUVs for example. They would not take two parkings spots, they would polute far less, and in case one hits you they would not overide your crumple zones and kill you.

No, but if one did hit you it'd probably just explode... like in the Simpsons...

i do understand the advantages of the SMART. however, i still agree with jayson on how it is almost like parking a golf cart in the street. you would have to see them in person to understand this. i however would never harm an automobile, just as any other member on this board wouldnt.

Haha, I saw a few of those things at the auto show, they even had a "sport car" type of the SMART car... but that really sucks for that guy.
