Chameleon Auto Paint Question

I have kind of a dream of someday buying a Mustang and getting it painted with chameleon paint but I have no idea how much it would cost to get it re-painted so I was wondering if anyone has just a general estimate of how much a chameleon paint job would be. Thanks

The last quote I saw was $2700. Not cheap. To me, that money would be better spent on a super high quality solid paint job. But that won't garner the kind of attention you're probably after.

Just to give you an idea, a pint of Kameleon Color runs about $300. How much paint is required, besides the black base coat and clearcoat, you would have to consult with your paint shop. Labor costs and related sanding and finishing materials varies with the shop.

If your paint is in good shape, consider adding 2-3 more clearcoats to give your paint a deeper, showcar like look.

If you have ANY painting ablity at all, you can do a pro job with a rattle can kit you can buy at Kregan's Auto Supply. It's a three step paint job that looks like it cost thousands. Each kit is enough to do a whole motorcycle and cost $20.00@ You do the figurin'. I'd say less than $150.00 to do your car. I just painted a bike with this kit and it looks like it cost a bundle. Be brave and try it. You won't be sorry.

Hey,I found a miraculous new paint by AlsaCorp called Xposures and it changes colors in different temperatures or even to the touch. It literally explodes into a rainbow. Never thought this was possible and that too at reasonable price. Check out this link!

If you do use that on a car you will be sorry! Ive seen ppl use it, with bad results, the heat produced from the engine is enough to cause the primer to seperate from the base coat. Youd be better off to get a good paintjob and an extra coat of clear for the deep shine

Re: Chameleon Auto Paint Question

Like the others have said it will cost you a pretty penny.

Chameleon paint costs $300/pint for each phase depending on the quality. I have seen a chameleon paint job that was $17,500USD.
