i was riding around with a buddy last night when i drive past the mobil gas station and a white, lowered, civic is pulling out. i pulled past him and all i hear is a blow of valve sound, which made me almost break my neck turning back to look. we catch a light next to each other up the road a bit and the kid doesn't look over, just keeps edging closer and closer to the white line. the light turns and we both took off and i spanked him all the way through 4th gear, i had about 3-4 cars by 100 mph. we get stopped at the next light behind two cars(one happened to be another maxima w/ exhaust, looked to be a 97-99) i rolled my window down, he rolled down his and i didn't really know what to say, so i just looked at him and said "no doubt, that was fun" and he goes "fuckin sohc, what can ya do"? we get to talking briefly and he's running 7 psi on a sohc 1.6L civic motor and i could see for myself it had an exhaust. i told him how nice it sounds and He said it's his girls car that he's in the process of building up for her, she was in the passenger seat. Then the light changed and we parted ways. so up the road a bit i ended up catching up to the other maxima we had stopped behind. we got a light together too and he got himself a whoppin' too up through third gear, then we went at it a few times from a roll and he got taken every time too. we'd stay neck and neck til about 4,000 rpm, then i'd begin to pull like a mofo on him, because 4th gen maxima's are notoriously weak on the top end. all in all I had a good time and i'm very glad to see that it's becoming race season again.

i raced one of those v6 maximas, not sure wut gen though. i drive a 99 gsx and the maxima hung with me for a while...i was suprised. seems like a car with potential. just thought id throw my two cents in.

Good kill. What type of engine do you have in the Maxima? Is it the 3.5 litre V6? I once raced a 99 Maxima in my former 98 Cobra, and that car was keeping up with me for awhile. It surprised the hell outta me.

^yeah, mine's the 255 hp 3.5 w/ 6 speed tranny.

Hey 2000LS1Z28, I have to ask, exactly how many cars have you been through in your time? When I joined this board you were still in said Z28, then you switched to an EVO breifly, and now you're back with a WS-6...you run through rides like I run through shoes. Lucky bastard.

That maxima really is quick, it would be amazing if Nissan designed a factory supercharger package or something...have you looked into forced induction for your ride? Any plans?

yeah, when i was thinking about selling my GSR i looked into those, 2k2 and 2k3 maximas, nice, with luxury and quick....

Any plans?i've looked, there's a turbo kit in the works from SSR that makes 385 whp @ 6-7psi but i'm not planning on getting it for my car. The money i have saved is for my new ZX6R Ninja i'm getting soon. the maxima's gonna stay my daily driver. i'd like to get the cattman headers and Technosquare ecu upgrade though.
