92 silverado no brake lights or turn signal

my 92 silverado has no passenger side brake lights/turn signal. The driver side lights work fine. When I turn right blinker on it work in the front but also blinks at double the speed. I took the tailight assembly apart and the sockets on the circut boards are all gooey. So I used a light tester on the harness plug and there is no power going to the right side brake/turn signal. Also after messing with it yesterday now the reverse lights on both side dont work. I have searched many of the forums and never really found a specific solution to my problem,

And if it is teh relay switch where the heck is it <I am a noob> yes I have changed all the bulbs

Thanks all

Had this on mine when I bought it. Remove the suspect taillight housing. Place a volt meter on the leads and have someone step on the brake. If you are getting voltage at that connector you have a bad taillight housing. There are some solder joints on the housing itself, resolder those and clean all the connections with contact cleaner. reassemble and all should be good.

If you do not get your voltages at the connector, you will have to trace back to the harness under the bed and in the engine compartment to find the failure.

Re: 92 silverado no brake lights or turn signal

i also have the malfunctioning passenger brake/turn signal light problem, ive checked the wiring all the way back to the firewall with a voltmeter for continuity, and its all good and clean. Any ideas? i dont want to pay for a new turn signal switch, or pull the dash apart to put it in.

This thread is old and dead.
With a new problem better to start with a new post.
Or start a new thread.

First check is fuse and flasher and bulbs and wiring.
Get a volt ohm meter or old 12 volt test light.
Look on the lower steering wheel tube and start checking at the turn signal wiring plug in.
Check for brake light to turn signal power from flasher and the for brake lights in and turn signals and brake light out.
Then start a new thread and post back what you have.
