My 94 Golf 111 Almost won't start when below 60 deg. f.!!!It will crank and backfire for 5 min. then start like nothing was wrong. If the motor is near opperating temp it will fire up ,no problem. Anyone have any good ideas?P.S. the mileage is @158000 thank you.
Check the blue coolant temp sensor, it's in the flange where the upper radiator hose meets the cylinder head. Resistance across the two sensor pins should be 2000-3000 Ohms when cold (68F) & go to 200-300 Ohms at operating temp.
Thank you sounds like a good place to start! My Golf and I Will be separated for a couple weeks when I get Back together with it I'll give it a shot and let you know.Thank you again, I really appreciate the help!!!
