Talking Aux adapter for 02 TB

I know we have been through this before, and I myself was convinced there was no solution to this aux input on an 02, but Autotoys.com has this adapter that is supposed to work on 02s to 04s and the BOSE and in dash. I have emailed and gotten a response from their techies, and they say it sould probably work, but since my 02 is and "early" model, they cannot guarantee it.

http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...2&cat=0&page=1

Has anyone actually installed on of these in an 02, with the BOSE and in dash changer and have it work? Please, if you do, let me know by PM or post here. By the way, I am looking to do this because FM transmitters suck!

Thanks, Erik

Received this item today and tried to install quickly. It didn't work, but I might not have had the proper power and ground wires connected. The adapter says it works for an external cd changer, but I heard the 02s with the indash changer dont actually send a signal to the changer port, which I assume I need to get the adapter to work. It says there is a jumper to switch from XM radio to changer modes, but I thought the 02s cannot have XM radio added. Can anyone help me? I will probably tear into the project completely this weekend, but does anyone have one of these installed in an 02 with the specs above? Thanks, Erik

I have the same problem and have researched it quite a bit. Visit XM411.com. The guy who owns the site has a lot of info re: what works with what. There is also a forum/message board. Have not found any direct interface that works with the Bose 6cd unit. The aux button is for units that have the dvd player.

Do you know if there is any way to crack open the radio, wire something up to send a signal to the aux adapter when the cd/aux button is pushed to get a signal, and have it work that way? Also, I hear the 03 radios work with 02 TBs. Don't they have a BAND button which would work? I am trying to think about a possible swap to get the band button. I will call the manufacture soon and post what they say. Thanks for the info, Erik

Mine is an 03ltz and so far I have found nothing that will work. As far as direct wiring I do not think this is an option. Has something to do with the computer.

I have installed the adapter again with no success. An email to the tech support people was replied with the adapter can be installed and should work with that suv. They asked to haev me call them to walk through some troubleshooting steps with them, so I think tomorrow is the calling day for me. I am still optomistic, but I hope it will work.
Fingers crossed!

Re: Aux adapter for 02 TB

Looking forward to finding out if you get this thing to work... I've had the link on my desktop for 3 months but am afraid to order it!
Best of Luck!

I called yesterday (5-13) and the manufacture said the unit should work with no problems as long as there was no external changer. Basically, they told me that it was defective and to ask for a replacement from the place I bought it from. So, now I need to get an RMA number from the place and send it back to them. I'll keep all of you posted.

Thanks, Erik

Yep, got an RA # and am going to send it off tomorrow to get another one. The manufacture keeps telling me it will work with my 02, so I keep trying to get it to work out. Will post pics when installed.

Re: Aux adapter for 02 TB

I have been slacking on my mods as of late, but did manage to install some Silverstar fogs last week. I have given up with the aux adapter, and have decieded to go with a wired fm modulator. Not the best sound I hear, but it has to be better than the wireless ones.
