Get an old 4G63 and do the rebuild kit then you'l have a motor w/ 0 miles. While on the rebuild you should port and polish the head, get new cams and pistons also a 50 trim turbo. You dont even need 25k to build a beast when it comes to dsm.

build the crap out of that motor dont leave one thing stock...screw the 50trim, just go straight for a FP 3065 and supporting mods ;)

Race car or street car? People choose 1g for race car most of the time, but I would get a mint 99 gsx if I had that kind of money. 15,000 in a nice 2g or 20,000 in a nice 1g, your choice. Don't get the cheapest car you can find... you'll want all of the stock parts you keep to be in good shape.

Anyway, for the build... choose a power or time goal then a turbo for it. Add up all of the supporting mods for that goal, save at least a few thousand for misc. parts and broken parts, and have fun building it.

1g's are just way to ugly. if you really have that kind of money and want to build a great dsm...

go find a 2g gsx ... not that hard.. cars.com or autotrader.com and search the whole country.

goto buschurracing.com and pick a 6 bolt block and head to put in your car.

look at various ball bearing turbo's at forcedperformance.com and slowboyracing.com. personal preference is the sbr gt35.

buy ALL the supporting mods.. from the piping to the tranny/drivetrain upgrades. various sites have the recommended parts such as roadraceengineering.com dsm.org dsmtuning.com etc or you can keep this post going and the pps here with knowledge will help you out.

I built a 95 gsx from the ground up with a 6 bolt block and buying all my own parts then having it put together. The shop I took it too was retarded but it still ran like a beast when it was done... high 12's. and I spent about 4k ish on performance parts. and that was WITH the block being torn apart and rebuilt with new rods and JE 9:1 pistonts. I ran rich as hell and with a fmic and good tuning I could have had some pretty nice slips... but I sold her.

Ask around for info and do ALOT of research.

Quite frankely if somebody gave me 25k to build a dsm it would be fun as hell AND i can gaurentee that car would be just stupid ass quick. You can find a 2g gsx for in between 4k and 9k that are in good condition. You would be swapping the engine so you want to make sure the electrical and other misc parts that would stay in the car are good. Worst case scenario your picky and spend 10k on the car itself.... leaving approx 15k to spend on mods? I couldnt even comprehend having that much.

skip a buschur stage block now that i think about it and get a stroked 2.3l SBR block. add a sbr gt35r turbo and a ridiculous amount of supported mods with awesome flow. complete all suspension, tranny, drivetrain mods + a standalone ecu and you have a car that will be in the 2006 super street ultimate street car challenge..... if you dont break something :)

No offense to anyone who suggests exactly what turbo, block, or head to buy... but it depends on the guys goal and some more specific stuff. I wouldn't take any specific suggestions seriously. Maybe you can help us by explaining what the car should be able to do.
