Unhappy 2001 GLS Jetta Signal Lights Problem.

I have a 2001 GLS Jetta.
It has a history for electrical problems concerning light bulbs. I have pretty much replaced them all over time.
It just started having a problems with the signal lights. They turn on and blink/cycle once or twice and then they go off. Some times they don't go on at all. Sometimes they stay on for a while.
I checked all the bulbs and even replaced a couple.
Could it be related to the relay circuit?
I so, where is it located and how can I get to it?
I don't know much about cars so, please be as detailed as posible!

Thanks!
Alex

Definitely sounds like t/s-hazard flasher relay. It's built into the hazard switch & easy to replace.

boschmann:
You were right on the money. The problem was that the t/s-hazard flasher relay got damaged due to a loose connection in the grounding.
This was most likely the problem that was causing all of the other light bulbs to burn.

Thanks for the help!

No, it's not going to solve the other bulbs burning out. Headlights are not as common on Jetta's as they are on Passats, but they do go out. The brake lights are problems on all VW made vehicles. Same with audi considering they share a ton of the same parts and use the same bulbs.

Do not try to compare issues between a 97 and anything after 99.5 . They are 2 totally different vehicles and share no parts. Have you check the fuses?
