Bought 95.5 Rodeo, Some Questions

Hey,
I just got a 95.5 Rodeo, I'm new to this truck thing so I have a couple questions.
When I get parts, do I look under 95 or 96?
I was looking for shocks and noticed that the Ranchos are different for those two years.
What do you guys think about Rancho 5000s, or have any other suggestoins?
I know people like the 9000s but those are two expensive for me.
I am going to do some easy off roading, and a lot of the roads up here in New England are like being off road.
My last question, would getting shackles in the rear and adjusting the torsion bars in the front be a good way to get a mild 2" lift?

Your discription for a 2" lift is correct. But the problem is that it will put a lot of stress on the carrier bearing on the drive shaft (and it will die a quick death). The solution is to have a 1 peice drive shaft made.

At your stock height you can have 31" tires with no rubbing.

I have had 32" tires (LT265/75 R16) on my stock 97 Rodeo before without problems; and am currently running 31" tires (LT245/75 R16)without issues as well.

Don't have a lift, but would like one!

Thanks, I guess I wont be lifting it that soon then.
I just saw a cheap way to get a couple inches, but should have realized it really wounldnt be so cheap.
Ill just wait until I get new tires, too bad it came with brand new ones.

So anybody have any expericence with the Rancho 5000s or other shocks around that same price?

I have a 95.5 also.

It's not such a big deal on engine parts but when buying suspension parts you need the VIN number to determine what parts fit. If you call a Rancho dealer they will ask you.
