Parts included with Z71 package?

I was hoping down the road to build my truck up to Z71 specs. I don't really off-road a lot with my truck but the parts would be nice to have since I live in the country. Roads can be beyond rough I do occasionally have to take it out the fields to get somewhere, like when I had to help my dad tow or tractor out of the mud. Basically saying, some terrain can be a little tuff for a bone stock truck. I would like a way to brace the middle of the chassis in between the cab and bed, and skid plates would be cool. My dad has a 94 Z71 regular cab long box, and it hauls over the rough. Any ideas? I don't really need officail Z71 package parts, but just do some stuff to build it to specs. I know most guys on here will say it's not needed, but I have had parts under my truck get hit before. The owner who had it before me hit the T-case on something and cracked it. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help, summer is comething and that's when it gets a work out. I do however take VERY good care of my truck, I love it.

Re: Parts included with Z71 package?

I was also wondering what parts are included in the package, Braces, skids and shocks are all I know of.

When I bought my 90 Z71 brand new, the package included the Z71 badging, bilstien shocks and skid plates.

Re: Parts included with Z71 package?

I figured it would have all those items. I'm going to upgrade my stock shocks to Ranchos. I'm not sure what to do for skids. I could make some since they are just metal plates, but I'm not sure where to buy the material for a decent price. I know buying skids are expensive, some of them are $200 for a set by some aftermarket companies.

Re: Parts included with Z71 package?

Any ideas for skids? I think some home improvement stores have metal sheeting right? I heard somewhere on this site that Home Depot has pieces of steel and aluminum, in varying thicknesses. Maybe I could check into that if it's not too expensive. Even if I could get the official GM parts, I would have no clue where to buy them.

Re: Parts included with Z71 package?

http://www.ckresto.com/ has front diff and t-case skid plates for about $50 each, though they are both aluminum, not steel.

You can also check out Summit, they have a lot of aftermarket packages. www.summitracing.com

Re: Parts included with Z71 package?

Thanks for the links. I searched forever one day and came up with nothing.
