H22A or B18C1(GSR) into 92-95 Civic HB?

As far as power goes, which would be better for the Civic hatchback, the JDM H22A or the JDM B18C1 Gsr Motor? Money nor installation is not an object for me, just wondering which motor will make the car go faster. I have heard the weight of the H22A will make a difference but I have read a thread of the H22 weighing only about 35-50 lbs more than a b16, which means the h22 compared to the b18 won't be that much. Can anyone give me some input on what I should do? I really want to install a H22A into a 92-95 civic hatchback but I am kind of scepticle.

The H22a will give you more power out of the box. It has more torque and more hp, the only "problem" is hooking the power to the ground. So if $ and the installation isn't a problem, then the H22a is the way to go.

So what could be done to get the power to the ground? Or I should ask what is the best solution?

A really good set of springs/shocks or coilovers, sticky tires, maybe a set of energy suspension bushings.

best power will be the h22. the tourque you find with the h22 is a much wider band while the gsr is great up higher rpms but nothing compared to an h22.
the best thing i can suggest for you before you go h22 is go for a ride in a civic with an h22. i have and personnally hated it. 1.you can only use 3 motor mounts to hook them up so any mounts you use are gonna be hard as hell (vibration like hell). 2. make sure you have a civic with no major front end hits ever, its a tight enough fit anyways without trying to fit it in past bent areas.
3. the weigth is another thing, some people like to say the h22 is only 70lbs heavier then the b series which may be true but the pure mass of the h22 is another story. to get that thing to handle like a b series will take some doing. hard but no impossible.

personily i would go gsr and decide from there what you want to do. the b18c is a very potent motor (there is a reason, almost every honda drag car is using the b18c) that has many routes to go. if you want to turbo (like meP:) its a very good motor, if you wanna go NA it is still a very good platform, and as a daily driver its awesome with very little difference that a stock d series motor.

i say go with the h22 because even though the b18 is a lil cheaper... by the time u buy all the other things you have to buy it comesw out 2 be about the same ...
plus if your gonna swap it yourself i hear the h22 is easier.

will an automatic h22a fit into a civic with no major hassle, i have read the MT tranny is a tight fit, and i was wondering if the AT tranny would be out of the question?

Completely incorrect. The GS-R engine is far easier to put into a Civic than an H22a; hands down. I'd say maybe 1/3 (or at most 1/2) the people who have the H22a swap done; went to a shop to have it installed. If it was as easy as a GS-R swap, more people would be doing it.

Man, I appreciate you trying to help me out and give me some input, but you really leave me no other option and I wish I could say this someway different so it wouldn't make be seem like an a*shole, but do you have any idea what you are talking about? The h22a is far cheaper than the GSR. After what I need to do to get the H22 into the civic it will be about the same, not what I need to do to get the GSR in it. The GSR is a bolt on, the H22 takes mounts, axles, wiring harness etc....and the h22 is way harder to put into the civic then the gsr is. I would do some research and you will be suprised what you find out. But thanks for the input....
