Question Turbo's w/o oil?

Is there any type of turbo system out there that does NOT require a flow of oil? Do ball-bearing turbo's still require oil? What's the difference between a turbo with a wet bearing housing and a dry bearing housing? I've read alot about this and haven't realy found any of these answers. I just realy don't feel like dirlling into my oil pan :P Thanks

Yes there are some that aren't oil cooled. For the rest of the answers, search in the regular AF turbo forum (not the Honda/Acura one). I know for a fact this info has been covered before.

Re: Turbo's w/o oil?

I might be wrong, not a turbo guru here, but isnt there some kind of bolt that you can screw in to your drain plug to keep from having to drill a hole in your oil pan? I could be horribly wrong but that would solve your problem.
