New starter

Yesterday, I installed a new starter in my 1995 Chevrolet Suburban. Actually, it was not new, it was remanufactured with a lifetime warranty. Last night it worked perfectly the two times we used it. Today, when I started it, after the engine engaged I got a high RPM grinding sound from the starter. It sounds like the starter clutch may not be pulling the gear back. Do you think I got a bum starter? :screwy:
