Torgue Converter

I was thinking of putting a 2000 stall conv. in my 2000 extreme to free the motor up. Has any one have any input on this? I just had the tranny rebuilt because the clutch packs where bad and it was slipping at full throttle. Should I go with a higher or lower stall such as a 2300 or 1800

Re: Torgue Converter

Here's an idea.

Why not talk to the transmission shop that re-built your transmission.

There are several factors to look at and it's their profession.
They look into the weight of the truck, the horsepower rating, where the power band is, plus the shift points of the transmission.

If you simply change the cam you should really get the proper torque converter to match the new cam.

Plus their the ones that have to stand behind the warantty. If they see a torque converter they don't like you might have to pay for any repairs the transmission might require... even if they know it's their fault

Re: Torgue Converter

To me it sounds like that transmission shop just lost a sale. And they can't turn any warenty work that might be torque converter related.

There is lots to read in goodle.com about facts on torque converters.

I haven't read it yet but this article looks like it might be a good one.
