first thing would be to change the oil and let all the water in the oil pan come out

My suggestion, start looking for a new motor. j/k dude. Take off the valve cover and plugs. Stick in a tube through the spark plug hole, and try siphoning off any excess water (if it hasnt drained already). Then do as said above. Take off oil pan, change oil and clean out oil pan. Then, cross your fingers as you take off the pan and hope that you don't see a bent rod or something. Low rpms = possible survival of engine if it hydroed. High rpms = you're screwed. The engine had to relieve somehow, usually meaning a bent rod or hole through something else, piston or block.

Wow that is some luck.

I hope your engine isn't shot. My friend had a '98 Civic with a CAI that went down into the air dam, and he hit a puddle, sucked water up through the intake, and bam. Dead engine.

I hope this didn't happen to you.

Also make sure your valve timing is correct. It's possible the belt may have jumped when everything came to a sudden stop. GL

That's awful! Does the tow yard bear any responsibility for the break in?

i doubt that, most yards never take responsibilty for break ins and shit. thats some tough luck man, hope everything gets better for you.

ITS STILL FIXABLE!

Now you have a great project.
Sucks to your asmar, but replacement motors are all over the place for reasonable prices, and same with whatever was taken out of the inside.

Sorry bout your luck though.
