wierd noise/ipod

I just bought my dream truck, 2000 chevy 2500, and it rocks. Something I found wierd was a constant electronic singing noise coming from somewhere under the box. I think it's the fuel pump or related to. Is this normal? I had a '89 heavy half and it didn't sound like this. Also, I've got an ipod, does the Delco factory cassette deck have any plugs at the rear for this kind of techy shite? I've got the cassette adaptor, but I hate the cable, and itrip sucks.

Re: wierd noise/ipod

Try replacing the fuel filter and see if the 'singing' stops. Since you bought used, you don't know when it was last changed (just like the oil and tranny fluid/filters).

As for jacks in the rear of the Delco, its doubtful. If you want to get rid of the cables, you're going to have to get an aftermarket and an RF transmitter (is that iTrip? There are others from other mfgs like iRiver, etc)

Try a company called peripheral electronics, I put one of these in my 2003 silverado. It plugged right in to the back of the factory stereo, the hook the ipod into it. It sounds great since it is a direct feed from ipod to stereo.

Here is the web site

I believe this is the one you would want

PXGM9 1996-2002 GM Vehicles
. Connects to 9 pin auxiliary input port on the back of the factory radio. Provides two pairs of stereo inputs.

Note: Requires factory auxiliary source such as; console or dash mounted cassette, CD player or console mounted CD changer. QUICK REFERENCE

• Provides TWO sets of Stereo RCA inputs

• Requires OE add-on unit such as slave cassette player, CD player, or CD changer

I used the harness that replaces the XM input.

You may also want to call these guys, they may have a solution for your specific radio.
