I just got August edition of R&T and I almost peed myself when i turned to pages 66-67.:D
The al' mighty MotoRex Blackbird -
550hp / 7500RPM
440lb.-ft / 5600RPM
0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds
1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds
198 mph Top Speed
Price - $115,000
Basically, it will beat any car on any course :p
I want one baaaaad...
I just can't get enough of the engine pic.. 2 huge turbos, and the engine is 'so fresh and so clean clean'
MotoRex: Good job! This is car worth more than just a leg and an arm, its also worth my left lung!:)
I say you guys try to make a 1000hp monster next.. see what you can come up with, should be pretty interesting.
I will try to scan the article and pics later...
It would be hellova nice if someone from MotoRex could sneak out here and post a reply... I know you guys are probably reading this
Keep it up MotoRex!

Igor, I pretty much experienced the same reaction as you did when I got to that page in the rag. What makes it even more intriguing: this exclusive masterpiece exists somewhere nearby, rather than across the Pacific. The thought that I may one day see it on the road is thrilling.
Having had a heavy interest in jet-propulsion also contributes to my enthusiasm. The USAF's retired, but never forgotten Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" has made a definite impact in history. To use its name for just anything would be like blasphemy, but in this case it fits very precisely. The exclusive reconnaissance aircraft had two important characteristics that are actually shared by Motorex's R34.
Both Blackbirds required serious labor to create and maintain:
- The SR-71's permanent grounding was a result of the needed astronomical funding and manpower to keep it in the air.
- Motorex was challenged with the difficult and unusual task of testing, crashing, and modifying Skylines to allow them to be incorporated in the U.S. Furthermore, they had to go above and beyond even all that trouble to make one that stood out from the others--leading to that incredibly high price.
Both Blackbirds make a serious statement with speed:
- The SR-71 is known to be the fastest aircraft powered by jets, rated at around mach 3.5.
- Motorex's Blackbird... Igor has the specs; enough said about that.

I wish we Americans could get a Skyline then trick it out performance wise like in Gran Turismo.

Wow, they must have turned the boost up on that bad boy cuz when they had it in Sport Compact in the May 2001 issue they had the 1/4 at 12.3 @112 MPH. Must be nice!

11.2 seconds 1/4 mile is amazing. It just shows how great the aftermarket for cars is. Only two production (curent) cars remind me of that kind of speed. Two Lingenfelter Corvette ZO6s. The 427 (actually 427.6) "small block" ZO6, 11.7 1/4 mile, and the Twin-Turbo ZO6, at 11.5 1/4 mile. Crazy stuff. That Blackbird is probably like 3 car spaces ahead of the TT Vette.
....
OH YEAH!!! Forgot about the Venom 850 Viper. :D lol That's "Stupid fast." ;)
Oh well, enough dreaming, I'll just wake up to my "slower" 450+bhp car...

Hahaaaa!! I'm getting that car next week!!! Not!!
Damn man, that shit has 550hp. I just went on to motorex to see how much it costs. They want 105,000, that's right kids, one hundred and five thousand dollars for it. I tell you man, whoever get's that car, better not be from my neighborhood. I will do time for that car.:D Not!

Look at the top of your screen. Look at the cartoon Skyline. Don't you wish it was black?! Igor make it black! Perhaps for only a day? I would be greatly appreciative.
Eh, I'm just fooling about. I still like blue Skylines. Blue Nissan anything, for that matter. It's the base hue for Nissan's international corporate color scheme, along with red and white trimmings. But as they say, black is always in style.

The thing I like about the Skyline the most is the GT-R's front diffuser. It gives the car a more agressive look. It looks even better in blue.

The thing I like best about the R34 Skyline GT-R vspec is the rear diffuser. I don't believe there is another car available in its class (or even higher classes) that comes with one from the factory. Utilizing the Bernoulli principle on the car's body itself is an engineering tactic left mainly for open-wheel racecars. Let's just hope these types of characteristics transfer over to tomorrow's Skyline.
