anywho....my3rd, when are you gettin that GT-R youve been talking about :D. cant wait to see more pics.
Well first my wife wants me to buy her a stagea, then i'm going to get the GT-R in november-january timeframe....

Although, honestly I'm thinking about just getting a 180 or a pulsar. Something with an SR20 in it. Why the fuck would I do this you ask...?

To learn. I don't know shit about performance tuning and I figure it will be a hell of a lot easier to build, cheaper to do and easier to learn from, as well as less of a big deal to fuck up... working with an SR20DET.

So this is a call out to anyone who's ever built an engine with their hands and not fucking paid someone to do it, and gotten a respectable amount of horsepower from it AND daily drive it, AND had it last longer than a year at said horsepower...

Do you think an SR20 is a good move?

I mean, yeah, I'd love to get a GT-R, and I know I have the nuts to drive it and the discipline to not crash it but... building it. I'm not prepared to do that yet so I think I should wait.

I mean sure I could get a GT-R and throw an exaust, intake and turn the boost up a little bit and make some fun horsepower. Fuck, lets just say 350-400 to keep it simple.

In that situation I'd rather do internal's and a complete rebuild on an SR20 to get the same result for horsepower.

WHY? to learn. It's not a numbers game for me. I just want to learn. so what do you think?

The SR 20 is a GREAT engine to learn on. It is easy to mod and it is found in abundance in Japan. You can't go wrong, my friend.
