Trailblazer Dead Battery

I have a 2004 4x4 loaded. It has a intermitent problem with discharging the battery, come out in the morning and battery completely drained. My 2002 trailblazer had the same problem and it was the ignition switch that the dealer could not find until I saw dash lights on one night. That was the first thing I checked on my truck and is not the problem. I dont live in the U.S. so the dealer is completly lost this is a Venezuela made truck. I seems like one of the things that turn off after you set the alarm is not turning off all the time. Any Help

Lightbulb Maybe you can help

I am sorry I can't help you with your problem but may be you can help with mine. I have a 2002 trailblazer which the battery is constantly being drained. The dashboard lights and the radio seem to work when they feel like it. It has been to 2 different mechanics (including a GM shop) with no luck except that they would need more time to look at it at $65 per hour.

Am I understanding you correctly that your ignition switch caused your dash board lights to come on and drain your battery? Was the fix to replace your ignition switch?

Re: Trailblazer Dead Battery

My experience is during the winter months. When the temp drops below freezing my battery would run out of power. I had to call road service twice this winter. It varies according to my battery usage and how much I recharge it. That why I always carry a portable battery starter. They run around $50. Just last week, I ran my battery down and had to jump start with it. Very handy.

BTW, what with the run down protection I read about on Trailblazer? I thought that is to protact against dead battery...
