Question timming belt changed -- drove a little (didn't run good) quit on me and won't start

Hello first time to post on here.'94 Rodeo 3.2v6 180,000 miles.I had a knocking sound in front of engine so I looked on here and determined it had to be timing belt tensioner. So i tore it down replaced belt tensioner idler and belt, ligned up marks like haynes manual said, had to take belt off again because i forggot a bolt.I forgot to line marks up as i tore it down again so i looked at book to line up cams etc. put it all back together .I didn't start up real good but ran, i drove it around (maybe 5 miles) seeamed to not have as much power as it did before and then i tached it up to 5,000 in third gear and it souned like the belt slipped,it then quit running and now won't start. sounds like its out of time when it turns over.someone help please.did not line the marks up corectly or what?i haven't tore it back down yet going to in the morning.any help would be great.

It's a damn shame you're in TN, because you're going to get awfully good at this, and I need a hand changing mine out!

I just went through the same sittuation but on a differant car, What most likly happened is the timeing belt slipped a couple of teeth and is off, go back and put cylinder#1 at Top dead center by hand and check your marks and make sure that they are alligned propperly Good luck....
