Exclamation abs and brake light

i know the abs and brake lights are a problem (for all rodeos...whether it be a 1995.0 (like mine), or a 1995.5, or even a 2000) ...the thing is--can they create another problem? as i understand it, the cause of the abs and brake light occasionally coming on is caused by a bad speed sensor. so, if the speed sensor is bad, can the abs system work correctly when the abs and brake lights are not on?

Re: abs and brake light

It is my understanding that if the light is on, the system is not operationable, but if the light is off then it is working properly. As long as the bulb isn't blown, should light up for a second or two when you start it up.

I recently had an ABS light on, replaced the wheel speed sensor on the differential, did the BS "drive the car under 8mph for about 1/2 mile" trick, slam on the brakes, nothing worked. After pulling my hair trying to figure this out, I found a bad ABS fuse in the instrument panel. Moral of the story...check your fuses!!!!
