wheel size on 02 Z24

Hey, recently bought 02 Z24 5 speed. Previous owner installed 15 in wheels. Any comments. I'm about to check the speedometer today, but did they have to change gearing or anything or could it still be factory? Also, at higher speeds, I can hear tire noise. I think it may be because of the smaller wheels. Any info appreciated.

Re: wheel size on 02 Z24

If the 15" wheels are 6" wide and have 195/65/15 tires on them, then the speedo should be pretty much right on.
Thats the factory 15" sizes for '95 and newer Cavaliers.
And he's right about the stock 16" size too.

What he said! Only I'd only lower .5" in the front and 1" in the back, or 1" front and 1.5" back...whatever works for you!

Why? Your car has a natural rake to it as is. By doing a 1.5 drop all the way around still leaves the rake affect but a hell of alot less wheel gap.

I'm about evening it out...not slamming it to the ground. I live in Alabama...we have nothing but bumps curves and hills. I'd fuck my car all up if it was too low and this is my everyday driver...and will remain that way. No trailer queens for me!

I'd like to drop mine slightly, but to be honest, I'd probably scrape every time I try to pull out of the driveway.
